“There will be 18 percussion music groups that will perform alternately to entertain the citizens. Among them are Armen Aqick Percussion colossal group, groups from Bali, West Java, North Sumatera, and West Sumatera, as well as 12 groups from Jakarta and Singapore called ‘Wickedaura’,” stated Head of Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department Tourism Destinations Attraction Management Section, Ida Zubaidah, Friday (6/20).
According to Zubaidah, those 18 percussion music groups will perform in Jakarta Percussion Carnival which will be held starting 6 PM until 11 PM. After escorting the opening ceremony at City Hall, they will march towards the stage located in front of Pullman Hotel.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Percussion Carnival Director, Franki Raden, explained that through this activity his party wants to revive percussion music show in Jakarta which had been popular in 1992 until 1998.
“We had held international percussion festival in 1992-1998, but stopped because of monetary crisis. The Jakarta Percussion Carnival is actually already big, but we’re focused on making bigger event independently next year which will only show percussion,” he uttered.
